From the Boudoir to the Barn,
We Do It All!
Today's Wildflower is Ashley. A hard working farm mom of 4 - She has chosen to answer a few questions for her post, enjoy the interview below:
The Juggle is Real: Many women manage careers and families. How do you find moments for yourself amidst the daily chaos?
"I am a mom of 4 and a wife a farmer and also help run 3 companies along side him.
I find my alone time in the shower to relax when kids go to bed. And to just shut my mind off.
There are some days my littles go to daycare and I try to get a 30 min massage before my phone goes of with a part run or cow issue and I am back to running all over.
Time is hard and sometimes the little bit of time is enough but there there is time like going grocery shopping with no kids I take that as a great time to myself .
I feel as a mother there is not much time for my self because it is always something with my kids"
Redefining Strength: Strength comes in many forms. What does strength mean to you, and how do you cultivate it in your daily life?
"Strength to me is more than what you can lift. Strength is how we handle our families from falling apart and running our kids to every sport or event we can.
Strength is for independence where we don't have to have men help us.
It is also standing up for yourself and going above and beyond."
The Power of Friendship: Strong female friendships are essential. How do your girlfriends support you, and how do you nurture these important relationships?
"My Girlfriends support me if I am having a tough time and tell me you will get through this and you are strong.
They are my to go to when I need to talk and they just listen and don't judge.
I Feel like my mom friends are the best because they understand how you feel and how we get through it together."
Breaking Barriers: Have you ever faced challenges because of your gender? How did you overcome them, and what advice would you give to younger women facing similar obstacles?
"Myself I have faced some challenges when a man says are you sure you know how to run that piece of equipment or how they say do you know what parts you really need maybe you should call your husband.
I have always told them yes I do know what I need because I am the one fixing the part.
They seem to get upset when I know what I am talking about.
We are in a world where women can do as much as a man for equipment. But men seem to still think they are right and know better when they are not"
